Mrs. Calcagnini, a teacher at SIS,
last year started teaching interested 4th grade students to knit and crochet
during her/their recess time. It was an overwhelming success!
The SIS PTA helped with a mini-grant to purchase the needed
supplies. Also, we put out the word via an e-mail that she was
looking for donations of yarn, knitting needles, etc. and she got a
bunch of donations from parents. Thank you.!!!!!
Well, knitting has begun again this year and is in full swing. There
is so much excitement in the air. Lots of boys are knitting this
year as well! This is where we need your help. Mrs.
Calcagnini is specifically looking for the following items as they
are the most popular:
Yarn looms, crochet hooks, size 8-10 knitting needles, worsted
weight yarn or thicker.
So - if you have any of the above hanging around or if you are able
to puchase and/or donate it would be most appreciated. Drop
offs can be made at SIS Main Office, attention Mrs. Calcagnini.
Should you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. C at
the school directly.
A special thank you to Mrs. Calcagnini for donating her time last
year and again this year!
Thank you again!
Your SIS PTA remains committed to projects which help enrich our
children's lives.
