The Special Education PTA (SEPTA) is a Somers Central School District parent/teacher organization whose scope and membership represents children in all four district schools as well as preschool children and Somers children educated out-of-district. SEPTA works closely with the Somers Central School District, other Somers district PTAs, and regional resources in an effort to develop a better awareness of the unique learning needs of all children. SEPTA is also a  member of the National PTA.

SEPTA provides parents with opportunities to obtain support and stay connected to the special education community. SEPTA's newsletter, SEPTA News, will be posted on the web site and mailed or emailed home to SEPTA members as per their request. All are invited to sign up for an email distribution list to receive reminders about meetings and information about lectures pertaining to various topics which may be of interest to the special education community.

SEPTA's goals are to secure the appropriate academic, physical, emotional, and social education for our children.

Everyone is welcome to become a member of SEPTA. Membership supports the wonderful educational enhancements SEPTA provides to the Somers special education community.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Contact any SEPTA officer with questions or concerns. All conversations are strictly confidential.
